What is a Mythical Creature?
A mythical creature is a supernatural creature that is believed to be real. Some of them have their own legends. Most of them have their own origins in mythology.
Chimera
- Was known as Khimaria and Chimaera
- Female
- Hybrid creatures
- Three heads on her body: one is lioness, one is goat, the last one is snake
- Two bodies: goat and lion.
- One tail: snake
Lernean Hydra
- Hydras are three-headed creatures
- They're very hard to kill
- According to greek mythology, everytime you cut off one head, another two heads grow
- It is immortal
- It is Hercules 2nd labor
Basilisk
- The Basilisk can kill a person with a glare
- It’s half bird and half snake
- It’s a reptile
- Its name means little king
Cerberus
- Is known as Guardian of Hell
- It guards the underworld
- It means youth, young, and grown
- It also means past, present, and future
- Is Hercules 12th labor
- It lets the dead enter the underworld that humans can’t enter.
- The dead can’t leave the underworld
